Vancomycin Drug Interactions

by on May 28, 2012

A number of side effects and interactions can occur when Vancomycin (Vancocin) is taken in combination with other drugs. Drugs that can adversely interact with this medication include:

  • Complera
  • CytoGam
  • Atripla
  • Gamimune
  • Flebogamma

Medications like Hepsera can also have adverse effects on vancomycin, as a combination of these two medications can increase the severity and risk of renal impairment. The risk is low with patients that have adequate renal function and receive moderate dosages each day, but increases in the dosage can have negative consequences on the underlying renal impairment.
