What is Winstrol?
Winstrol (stanozolol) is a manufactured steroid which is similar in composition to testosterone (a natural steroid). It is used in patients who suffer from hereditary angioedema by preventing their bodies from retaining water and causing swelling.
Patients who suffer from Angioedema normally experience swelling of the face, throat, bowel wall and genitals. If a patient suffers from heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol levels or is using anticoagulant medication, they need to inform their doctor before starting to use Winstrol.
Winstrol is available in either pill or injection form. Patients who use Winstrol need to ensure that they do not exceed the dosage which has been recommended by their doctor because it can have serious side effects on the liver as well as cause nausea and vomiting.
Women are especially susceptible to side effects when using Winstrol. These may include irregular menstrual cycles, an increase in body hair and the development of a gruff voice. Unfortunately, many of these side effects are irreversible. That is why it is extremely important for patients to stick with the dosage prescribed by their doctor.
Some body builders also take Winstrol for its effects on muscle growth.
