Unlike many types of medication, simethicone has virtually no side effects and is safe for pregnant mothers, nursing mothers and infants. Simethicone is most often used as a short-term gas relief treatment. If you need a long-term gas relief solution, talk to your doctor about whether continuing to use simethicone is right for you.
