Are Moderate Amounts of Alcohol Safe to Drink with Strattera?

It is fine to drink a moderate amount of alcohol when taking Strattera (atamoxetine) medication to treat ADHD. However, because most patients taking Strattera will be of school age, they will not legally be allowed to drink alcohol anyway.

If you are an adult taking Strattera and you want to drink alcohol, to be safe do not take the two at the same time. In addition, you should also always drink within the recommended alcohol limits. For women these are up to two units a day and up to fourteen a week. For men, up to three units a day and up to twenty one units a week. A unit of alcohol is a small glass of wine, half a pint of beer or a measure of spirits. If you find sticking to these limits difficult, seek help from your physician.
